The ceremony for the Horticultural Week Awards took place on 3rd November 2009 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London's Park Lane. Nominations for this prestigious award had been flooding in for months prior to the ceremony. Andy is currently delivering a wide range of horticultural tasks for the Yardley Contract, which is part of our large contract with Birmingham City Council.
Andy, pictured here with his Horticultural Lecturer, Mike Hinton, has recently completed a two year apprenticeship attending day release at King's Heath Horticultural College and has successfully achieved a National Certificate in Horticulture.
In addition to his normal horticultural duties, Andy has also involved himself in many different projects across the contracts, including a Health and Safety Committee and Biodiversity Champion Programme. This programme is part of our tender commitments to Birmingham City Council and is designed to add environmental value to our service solutions.
Andy said: "I was delighted when I found out I was nominated, so winning the award was a bonus. Achieving this award is a real motivator to future apprentices on the Quadron's contract with Birmingham City Council as well as throughout the company generally".
In addition to this success, Quadron was also awarded "Grounds Maintenance Contractor of the Year" and the Partnering Award in conjunction with The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
