Plant Maintenance demonstration by Stihl

Training day in Medway

Stihl recently gave Quadron's staff in Medway a training day on the correct use and maintenance of their brushcutters, hedge trimmers and blowers.

Quadron has invested in Stihl equipment which is not the cheapest machine on the market and is amongst the best for hand arm vibration commented the trainer.

The purpose of the training, carried out by Stihl instructors Kevin Roy & Andrew Paskell, was to give instruction to operatives regarding the machines they currently use and to ensure that they understand the machines and can diagnose faults and undertake basic preventative maintenance.

Staff were trained in changing plugs and filters and carrying out general checks on their machines.

Recommendations were made regarding spare parts that should be carried in the operatives vans enabling instant repairs, reducing down time and prolonging the life of the equipment. The trainers stressed the importance of using guards, having clean blades and using resin repellents and lubricants.
