Partnering with the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

Quadron currently provides grounds maintenance services throughout this inner city borough; the partnership also includes the maintenance of prestigious green flag accredited sites.

This contract was won as a result of a negotiated tender process. Through a series of meetings to discuss various elements of the service it was decided that Quadron's bid offered the Authority the best value.

Partnership Initiatives

Regular review meetings - The partnership has quarterly review meetings to discuss operational performance as well as open book accounting meetings to review the contract's financial performance and decide on action necessary to improve any underperforming element.

Profit-share arrangement - The profit share mechanism introduced here ensures that the choice between price and quality remains with the Authority, and can be more flexible than with a traditional fixed-price arrangement.

Innovation Forum - Excess profit is returned into an Innovation Fund, together with funding and sponsorship gained from other sources. Any default charges for the non-performance of minor works are also paid into this fund for later reinvestment into the contract thus giving the default procedure a positive outcome. The Innovation Forum evaluates options for improving facilities.

Redeveloped facilities - Kensington Memorial Park

Synchronized budgets - Budgets are also synchronized, as obviously Quadron's income is the client's expenditure and so it is helpful to compare expectations.

Flexible operational plan - The operational plan is kept flexible so that local and current circumstances can be taken into consideration such as inclement winter weather where operatives can be used by the Authority to perform other works outside the contract specification when they would not be otherwise productive.

Shared offices - We share office and depot accommodation with client officers, so that client and contractor literally work side-by-side to achieve their mutual aims for an efficient and effective customer service.

Self-monitoring and collaborative monitoring practices - The level of trust between the partners has grown to such an extent that the contract is predominantly self-monitored, with Quadron's CORMS system utilised by the Client for their own monitoring.
