Quadron was delighted to be awarded five of Birmingham City Council's ten grounds maintenance contracts commencing on 28th March 2009.
On Saturday 16th May 2009 the local residents had an opportunity to meet and greet the people behind these contracts, particularly those who run their parks, at an event organised by Birmingham Open Spaces Forum at Austin Court, Birmingham.
This event provided Quadron with the opportunity to meet with the valued network of the Friends of Parks Groups, Allotment Societies and different volunteer sectors, with the prime objective of bringing together ideas and aspirations regarding the way local parks are managed in Birmingham.
Clive Ivil, Managing Director for Quadron Services, was invited to address the 100+ audience, which provided an occasion to share the company's "Vision for the Future" and answer any questions raised.
Martyn Bradley, Quadron's local Area Manager said:-
"The forum and break out sessions promoted thought-provoking debates, whilst at the same time bringing to the forefront the challenges and expectations of Friends of Parks, User Groups, Community Volunteer Sector and Social Enterprise Organisations in delivering park services in the twenty first century."
Feedback from all Quadron's Management Team, including the Horticultural Development Manager, Andrew Kauffman, who fully supported the event, was that Quadron's approach has been well received and that attendees gained valuable information on how Quadron as an organisation intends to work pro-actively in engaging with the community at a new level: this philosophy being under-pinned by the Company's pledge to working in partnership with Birmingham City Council.
