In collaboration with the London Borough of Southwark, Quadron has established a highly successful apprenticeship and Train to Gain programme for its workforce over the last few years.
The scheme's success in its first few years has led to significant further developments in the training plans for the entire grounds maintenance workforce within Southwark.
The apprenticeship and Train to Gain schemes work in collaboration with the local branch of Connexions together with Capel Manor College's Crystal Palace Centre, to train young people to NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture.
These programmes have helped to bridge the national shortage of trained horticulturalists. The apprenticeship programme has also been introduced in order to counter the problems of an ageing workforce across the industry.
