Quadron has assisted several of its Clients to achieve unprecedented success with their 2009 Green Flag applications. The Green Flag scheme recognises the best parks and green spaces in England and Wales.
New Awards for Quadron managed sites in 2009 include:
London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham:
- Ravenscourt Park
- Margravine Cemetery
Birmingham City Council:
- Moonlit Park and Sunset Park
Hastings Borough Council:
- St Leonard's Gardens
Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea:
- St Luke's Park
London Borough of Southwark:
- Russia Dock Woodland
- Paterson Park
To win these Green Flag Awards, each Council had to present a management plan to demonstrate that each park is welcoming, healthy, safe, clean, well-maintained and managed with consideration for the conservation of natural features, wildlife and historic buildings.
Additionally, it is crucial to involve local residents and show how Friends of Groups and other local interest groups are encouraged and consulted to demonstrate that each park is appreciated and well used, serving the interests of the local communities.
Quadron's involvement varies in each area, sometimes being no more than simply producing excellent standards of horticultural maintenance, but in some cases the Company's role has encompassed the whole process of putting the management plan together, consulting with residents and attending meetings with interested parties.
Quadron is always keen to work with Friends Of Groups and other local stakeholders to develop their parks and to provide a maintenance regime that meets the requirements of the parks' users.
